The Alfred

The project offers the opportunity to redefine the existing Mermaid Beach neighbourhood centre and create a mixed-use destination. The design proposition provides a clear strategy of a generous and active ground plane, defined sight lines, visual permeability and creates a focus on the public realm. A central atrium creates a human-scale and sub-tropical environment, extending the public realm into the site with connections to the existing street pattern. Above this sits a luxury residential tower which leverages the abundant amenity in the podium.
